Building a Connected Parental Control and Family Safety App
Our LittleBird was designed as two connected mobile experiences: a parent app for monitoring and managing permissions, and a child app for the monitored device. The delivery moved from family-safety research and role-based wireframes through mobile UI design and integrated iOS and Android application delivery.
Parents needed a clearer way to understand activity across multiple child devices without switching between fragmented location, screen-time, call, media, and social-account information.
The product also required distinct parent and child roles, carefully structured permissions, and highly visible safety actions that remained understandable in urgent situations.
Our LittleBird Product Scope
The verified scope covers the connected mobile journeys needed to link family devices, manage permissions, monitor relevant activity, and respond to location or safety events.
Parent and Child Role-Based UX
Separate but integrated experiences help users select a device role, invite family members, link devices, and understand which permissions belong to the parent or child experience.
Device Linking and Permission Management
Family codes, invitation flows, device status, setup guidance, and permission controls establish the connection between monitored and monitoring devices.
Location, Geofencing and Screen-Time Controls
Parents can review current and previous locations, configure location-related safety workflows, and understand screen time across entertainment, social media, and games.
Camera, Media and Device Activity Workflows
The interface provides permission-led access to camera actions, specific pictures, call logs, device information, notifications, and connected social-account controls.
SOS, Subscriptions and Cross-Platform Delivery
SOS countdown and family-alert workflows sit alongside subscription, checkout, invoice, and account-management experiences delivered for iOS and Android.
